Cool Wave Air Conditioning

Servicing

Servicing that keeps systems young

An air conditioning system is a fifteen-year machine when it’s looked after — and a five-year one when it isn’t. An annual service is the cheapest insurance it can get.

Why servicing matters more than people think

Air conditioning fails slowly, then suddenly. Filters and coils load up with dust, airflow drops, the system runs longer to do the same job, and running costs climb months before anything obviously “breaks”. The breakdown call in a July heatwave usually started as a blocked filter in March.

A proper annual service resets all of that: clean filters and coils, a clear condensate path, and measured pressures and temperatures compared against how the system should be performing — so a developing fault shows up as a number on a page, not a puddle on your floor.

Warranties depend on it

Manufacturer warranties on domestic systems are conditional on documented annual servicing. Skip a year and a compressor claim can be refused. Every service I do comes with a written record — dates, checks, readings — that keeps your paperwork watertight.

Any system, any installer

You don’t need to have bought your system from me. Splits and multi-splits from any of the major brands are welcome, and the first service starts with an honest condition report: what’s healthy, what needs attention, and what it should cost to keep the system at its best.

The landlord angle

If you let a property with air conditioning, an annual service visit is the difference between a planned £-figure each year and an emergency call-out with an unhappy tenant. I provide the written records that make your file inspection-ready, and can schedule visits directly with tenants to save you the diary tennis.

FAQs

Common questions

How often should air conditioning be serviced?

Once a year for a domestic system in normal use. Annual servicing keeps efficiency up, catches small problems while they’re cheap, and most manufacturers require it to keep the warranty valid.

What happens if I skip servicing?

Dirty filters and coils make the system work harder for less cooling, running costs creep up, condensate drains block and leak, and small refrigerant leaks go unnoticed until the system stops performing — usually in the first heatwave of the year.

Do you service systems you didn’t install?

Yes. Any make of domestic split or multi-split system is welcome, whoever installed it. If it’s in poor shape I’ll tell you honestly what it needs — and if it isn’t worth spending money on, I’ll tell you that too.

How long does a service take?

Around an hour for a single split, longer for a multi-split depending on how many indoor units there are. You get a written record of what was checked and the readings taken.
